For Misha

OK Misha this is for you.

I've since finished & sewn the slits. My "landscape" is very simple but I'm happy with it. I'll try for a photo of the completed sampler tomorrow.

  2. Hi Christine, just popped in for a look and it made me think back to my own first attempts at tapestry weaving a circle, which as you know is not an easy task for a beginner.

Just keep on checking your unwoven warp spacing above the the work. right from the very first weaving row of your design, make sure the spacing is always the same between them.

Shown here is the obvious left hand gap, but if you look carefully at the warp threads above the white weaving on the right you can see they are slightly differently spaced out from those that above the black threads. Constant checking of the warp spacing above your work means you would have noticed the warp above the left hand white area was being pulled too tight because they are not as spaced out as the other side.

This hint of constantly monitoring the warp above the work means it will tell you if a new weft is going to work in well or if you need to add or subtract a few threads to bulk or fine down your newly introduced warp.

    Best of luck,
    S
